This week’s screenings are well underway having begun with Monday evening’s Independent Membership exclusive event which saw Bridget Jones author Helen Fielding in conversation with Editor-in-Chief, Geordie Greig, before the screening of ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’ itself.
Tuesday evening centred The Independent’s own journalism with two of its own documentaries. ‘Cancelled: The rise and fall of Aung San Suu Kyi’ by Geordie Greig was followed by the premier of ‘Wombs of Debt’ which investigates the hidden health crisis facing women in India’s sugarcane industry. Both are available to watch on The Independent now.
The film series at the ICA is just one part of The Independent’s extended programme celebrating its 40th anniversary. The milestone has been commended by Prime minister Andy Burnham in a letter to Editor-in-Chief Geordie Greig. That letter is available to read here on The Independent.
