Yesterday, The Independent held its first-ever Travel Awards, celebrating the hotels, airlines and destinations loved by our readers – and the results are in.
The event, hosted by official venue partner, the Kimpton Fitzroy London and sponsored by Loveholidays was the culmination of a whopping 17,000 Independent readers who voted, recognising the very best of the travel industry.
Sun-drenched destinations in Spain dominated the European holiday hotspots, TUI took the top spot as the best tour operator, and Hilton was recognised for offering the best hotel stays.
