The Independent, E.ON Next and Starcom are Campaign Media Awards winners

Power Switch, the campaign from E.ON Next, Independent Ignite and Starcom, took home the big prize in the Corporate and Utilities category at the Campaign Media Awards 2024.

With a backdrop of the cost of living crisis, E.ON Next chose to partner with The Independent, a news brand known for its influential voice in driving positive change, particularly around sustainability issues. 

The Campaign Awards judges remarked: “There is a degree of bravery in putting your head above the parapet when competitors are keeping theirs down and this campaign deserves credit for that.”

The six-months long campaign, with a video series featuring Gogglebox stars Mica, Marcus and their children, can be viewed here. Spanning print, digital, social and Independent TV, with long-form content as well as co-branded ads, its aim was to provide feel-good ways to save energy. Bespoke ads sat against climate-related content – all serving to communicate E.ON’s mission of creating positive change in the industry through sustainability values and supplying 100% renewable electricity.

Results included a 25% rise in prompted awareness and an impressive 74% increase in consideration amongst those exposed.
