The Independent is celebrating its 40th anniversary with 40 Moments from 40 Years, a new exhibition at Outernet London showcasing never-before-exhibited photography and iconic front covers from four decades of journalism.
Bringing together the stories, people and events that have shaped our world – and the news The Independent has both reported on and helped make – the exhibition offers a unique perspective on the past 40 years, while inviting audiences to consider what the future may hold.
The exhibition forms part of the biggest programme of commemorative activity in The Independent’s history. Spanning editorial, research, guest contributions, events, a film season, competitions and special Membership content, it celebrates the title’s legacy of innovation, disruption and free thinking, while inspiring the next generation.
Opening today in Outernet London’s Now Trending space, the exhibition will appear on the venue’s screens throughout the remainder of October. It is free to attend, with screening times available at www.outernet.com.
