New membership experience gives free thinking readers more ways to engage with The Independent, its journalists and fellow members

The Independent has announced the launch of Independent Membership, a community designed to bring together a growing number of people who value trusted journalism, diverse perspectives and the freedom to make up their own minds.

Replacing Independent Premium, Independent Membership goes beyond access to journalism, giving members more ways to engage with The Independent, its journalists and fellow members, alongside a range of new benefits and experiences.

Members will continue to enjoy the best of The Independent’s reporting and analysis across news, features, sport, comment and the arts, with additional benefits designed to make the membership experience richer, more personal and more connected.

There are two levels of membership: Standard Access, priced at £99 a year or £11 a month, and All Access, priced at £130 a year or £15 a month.

Membership benefits include:

• Exclusive analysis and expert perspectives. In-depth journalism that goes beyond the headlines.
• Members-only newsletters. Including Commons Confidential, an insider guide to Westminster intrigue and gossip; The Weekly, bringing together the best of The Independent’s news analysis; and The Weekend Edit, a round-up of the best features, columns and reviews.
• A personalised newsfeed. Follow favourite topics and writers and create a newsfeed tailored to individual interests.
• Ad-free access. 80% fewer ads for Standard Access members or an ad-free environment for All Access members.

• Podcasts and videos. Tune in to The Independent’s podcasts and videos every day, alongside exclusive bonus content for All Access members.
• Commenting. Share views and join conversations with other Independent members across the website and app.
• Members-only events. Opportunities to hear directly from The Independent’s journalists and expert guests at unique events. All Access members receive early access or complimentary tickets. 
• Rewards and competitions. Access to exclusive offers and opportunities to win prizes. All Access members get double entry into competitions.
• Narrated articles. Listen to the latest journalism on the go.
• (All Access exclusive) The Daily Edition. Read a digital replica of The Independent newspaper every morning through The Independent app.

The launch of Independent Membership is the latest development in line with Independent Media’s strategic pillars: AI innovation, Independent Studio, eCommerce, US expansion and reader revenue. In June, the company announced that the company has seen a surge in the growth of AI and Studio – its creator and talent-led video and podcast business – with both AI and Studio revenues set to grow by over 60 per cent year-on-year. Its pillars now represent more than 60 per cent of all company revenue.
