Independent Media shortlisted for three awards at the AOP Digital Publishing Awards 2026

Independent Media has been shortlisted for three awards at this year’s AOP Digital Publishing Awards 2026, recognising excellence in digital publishing, creativity and impactful storytelling across its portfolio of brands.

The group has been nominated in the Best Creative Solutions Led/Content Marketing Campaign category for two campaigns: ‘Disagreeing Well’ by The Independent in partnership with University College London and ‘Cafe Meets’ by BuzzFeed UK, produced in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice. These nominations highlight the strength of Independent Media’s commercial creativity and its ability to deliver engaging, socially relevant campaigns for audiences.

In addition, The Independent has been shortlisted for Best Publisher-led Social Good Initiative or Campaign for its World AIDS Day programme. The ambitious initiative combined in-depth journalism, advocacy and cultural engagement, including the documentary Death Sentence: The real cost of Trump’s aid cuts on HIV by Chief International Correspondent Bel Trew, as well as a high-profile open letter led by Editor-in-Chief Geordie Greig calling on Keir Starmer to protect UK funding for global HIV programmes.

The nominations reflect Independent Media’s continued commitment to impactful journalism, innovative partnerships and purpose-driven storytelling across its brands.

Winners will be announced at the AOP Awards ceremony at Old Billingsgate on Thursday 11 June 2026. Best of luck to all nominees!
