We’re delighted to announce that The Independent has been shortlisted at the Campaign Media Awards 2024 in two categories: Commercial Team of the Year and Corporate and Utilities Campaign of the Year, for E.ON Next.

The Campaign Media Awards is one of the biggest dates in the UK media calendar and seeks to reward the people and campaigns that shape the way we experience advertising.

It’s a happy new year for The Independent, as our US footprint grows

US Comscore data for January has been announced, revealing the fortunes of digital news brands*. And it’s a case of new year, new readers for The Independent.

 

Highlights

  • In January, The Independent had an audience of 25.2m US readers, up 28% month-on-month (MoM)
  • The Independent had the highest growth MoM of any of the top 10 news brands
  • It overtook the LA Times to move up to eight biggest news title in the US
  • In comparison, the top 10 news brands in the US increased on average by just 9% MoM. Meanwhile, UK-born news brands were up in the US by 15%.
  • Indy100 had significant year-on-year growth – up 57% to 1.7m.

The Independent is pleased to launch Big in America on Independent TV, a new five-part documentary from Department for Business and Trade and Zinc Media Group, which follows the journeys of five UK companies as they chase their American dreams.

Hosted by renowned businesswoman and presenter Alex Polizzi, the series is packed with insights, challenges and triumphs.
