This week saw the first broadcast in our five-part Instagram Live series with Latitude, featuring author Raynor Winn in conversation with writer and broadcaster Matt Everitt.

Winn, known and loved for The Salt Path, will be appearing on the Latitude line up this year, alongside a huge array of talent spanning comedy, debate, wellness, literature, theatre and music.

Throughout June and into July, talks will be broadcast each Monday as Instagram Live events, with The Independent’s journalists speaking with some of the brilliant musicians, thinkers and comedians on the Latitude bill.

Future events in the series, all available to watch on The Independent and Latitude’s Instagram channels at 6pm, are:

• 16 June. Comedian and author Jordan Gray in conversation with The Independent’s Culture and Lifestyle News Editor, Jacob Stolworthy.
• 23 June. Physicist, oceanographer and television presenter Dr Helen Czerski in conversation with The Independent’s Technology Editor and Science Reporter, Andrew Griffin.
• 30 June. Broadcaster and writer Martha Kearney in conversation with The Independent’s Senior Features Writer, Helen Coffey.
• 7 July. Singer songwriter Sigrid in conversation with The Independent’s Head of Culture and Lifestyle, Patrick Smith.

The partnership culminates in some big-name pop-up events live at Latitude, which will be revealed to festival goers closer to the date.

Latitude, taking place in the beautiful Henham Park in Suffolk from 24 to 27 July, will feature musical performances from the likes of Sting, Snow Patrol, Fatboy Slim, Sigrid, Basement Jaxx, Clean Bandit, Maribou State and Elbow, alongside a phenomenal comedy line-up including Reggie Watts, Greg Davies and Bridget Christie.

The festival will also host science debates at the newly announced The Cosmic Shambles Forest of Science and Culture, with renowned speakers including Dr Helen Czerski, Dame Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Professor Chris Jackson, Dr Erica McAlister, Dr Camilla Pang, Dr Clara Nellist and Dr Suze Kundu.

Latitude day tickets start from £110 + booking fee for adults / £18 + booking fee for children, and weekend tickets start from £308 + booking fee for adults / £190 + booking fee for teens / £28 + booking fee for children.
