The Independent and Fresh Takes partner on new podcast series

The Independent today launches a new partnership with Lively Fresh Takes, the content platform and community dedicated to uncovering the latest in creative innovation. The Independent will partner with Lively on the new series of the Fresh Takes podcast, which is dedicated to interviewing innovators to find the insights to help the marketing and advertising industries connect with audiences.

The new series of podcasts, blog posts and events launches on 6th March with an initial set of episodes themed around pioneering women in marketing and advertising industries. The Independent’s Business Marketing and Communications Director Beth Gordon will be the first guest in the new series, with her episode kicking off a whole year of content on March 8th, International Women’s Day.

Fresh Takes was founded by marketing agency Lively and aims to inspire and educate its audience of listeners during a challenging time in a constantly evolving media industry. It regularly features innovators who are making real changes in the industry, recent examples of whom include Vice Chief Creative Officer and Virtue President, Chris Garbutt and Victor Murthy, Marketing Transformation Manager for Pernod Ricard.

Since its creation, Fresh Takes has also delivered two live shows in LA and at Cannes Lions, which featured high-profile guests such as Christina Wootton, VP Global Brand, Partnerships, Roblox, and Najoh Tita-Reid, CMO, Logitech.

Commenting on the announcement, Beth Gordon said: “We’re so pleased to be working with Lively on this new partnership to help celebrate and inspire the media and advertising industries. The Independent is committed to making change happen and innovation is one of our key values: we want listeners to come away motivated and empowered to create incredible, impactful and brave work, through hearing from the creative figures doing just that.”

Mike White CEO and founder of Lively also commented: “Lively has always championed innovation in marketing across numerous industries. With so much changing, we wanted to create an agnostic platform to discuss the constant evolution and to champion the true pioneers. Having The Independent on board is a true partnership as both businesses share similar values and want to get the right stories out to help inspire and make change happen.”
